Today I want to share you with you some great information on clickbank marketing and what you really need to know. Being a clickbank affiliate is just one of many ways to make money online…but if done right, can be one of the most profitable and rewarding ways. Lets get started shall we? Let’s look at 7 things you need to know about clickbank!!

Clickbank gravity & what you REALLY need to know about this metric:-

One of the most viewed things on the clickbank marketplace is the gravity of a product. But what does this mean and what do you really need to know about this important metric? Many people make the mistake of just choosing products based on high gravity. Let’s look at this more closely. In simple terms gravity is an indication of how much competition there is. It measures the number of affiliates who have each made one or more sales over the previous eight week cycle.

Looking at just high gravity products is not the right thing to do. Gravity measures the number of affiliates who make one sale, not the number of sales made. Not many people realise this and then the discount the products with low gravity. I can tell you from experience that even a product with a gravity of 10 can make 1000’s of sales!

“IMPORTANT TIP:-DON’T ALWAYS LOOK AT HIGH GRAVITY BE OPEN TO LOOK AT A WIDE RANGE OF GRAVITY NUMBERS”

Another great tip I can give you is that high gravity more often that not indicates a lot of competition and yes I know I said competition is good, but not always with clickbank. You see many people market off clickbank and choose high gravity products to promote. They then spam the landing pages and people very quickly see these products as scams. You will find it harder to promote these products because people are wary of them.

Gravity is not an indication of conversion rate, many people think it is and this is not right. High gravity products often have low sales and low gravity products often have high sales.

Markets & Niches…why they are so different:-

Another big problem I see is when people do research and get confused about a market and niche…or just totally have no idea what the different is:-

“A MARKET IS A GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WILL BE SERVED”

&

“A NICHE IS ONE AREA OR SPECIFIC THING THAT WE CAN MARKET TO WITHIN A MARKET”

So many people get this wrong and end up targeting a market rather than a specific niche. Now, eventually when your an awesome super marketer, you can scale your business and market to markets. But in-order to do this you need to be in the game a while, have advertising skills, a brand and so forth. But when you start you need to target niches within markets.

Lets look at an example:-

A Market could be “WEIGHT LOSS”

&

A niche could be “WOMEN OVER 40 LOOKING TO LOSE BELLY FAT”

Can you see the difference? I hope so because this is a very important step when loosing clickbank. You want to target niches because you can attract a more targeted audience. The more relevant and targeted your audience is, the more conversions you will make. Also it helps targeting a niche when you do paid advertising. If you just target a market, you will quickly waste a lot of money.

Intial $/Sale high or low…which is best?

Another feature on the marketplace is intial dollar sale of a product. Just like gravity you want to look at both sides of this. Smart marketers do this and this is why they make the most money! You will need to figure out what route your going to take.

Selling high commission products will work and people do it all the time. But you will need to make sure that the product sells well and that what your promoting is actually worth it. Sometimes the high commission products are a load of rubbish and you will quickly find out that you won’t make many sales.

On the other hand selling low or average commission products can work to your advantage. Don’t get disheartened just because a sale is $10. You might be able to sell 1000 x $10 products, which is a lot more than 20 x $100. Don’t always look at high dollars, look at smart dollars.

“DON’T ALWAYS GO FOR HIGH $ COMMISSIONS……….”

Avg % rebill & why you should always consider this!

This is another important factor you should take into consideration. Avg % rebill means the average commission rate earned only on rebills. Some products have rebills and some products don’t. If up to you but I would advise that you look for products that have rebills, because you can make a lot more money for basically the same amount of work.

“REBILLS ARE MONTHLY, SO YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO MAKE MONTHLY COMMISSIONS”

Vendor affiliate portals…why you need these:-

One of the most under utilized features in the clickbank marketplace is the vendor affiliate sections. Most vendors have an affiliate help section and its a win win situation for both the vendor and the affiliate. You see when vendors provide a help section, they attract more affiliates and produce more sales. So how can you as an affiliate use this to your advantage? Well let have a look:-

  • There are email swipes, but be careful a lot of affiliates just copy these and then there are 1000’s of generic emails going out. This will hurt your open rate and spam laws could get brought into play. Instead just use these as templates and ideas for your own campaign.
  • Banner ads which are very useful! Use there ones or create a similar one of your own.
  • They have paid ads copy. But again don’t copy these word for word just use to craft similar ones. The vendors test the best ad copy and then put it in this section.

You need to take advantage of this!!

Passion and products? Ill explain….

“PASSION WILL HELP YOUR PROMOTION AND MOTIVATION FOR A PRODUCT”

Having a passion for a product is often great because you will have more motivation and drive to promote it. However it is not necessary, but I do recommend it. A lot of people do account their business success to passions. They become more successful because more often than not when someone is passionate about a product or market….they know more about it.

They can then use this passion and knowledge to further enhance the marketing experience, which is a very valuable tool in any marketers skill kit.

Don’t believe everything you read about Clickbank:-

What do I mean when I write the above statement? Well, just like I have mentioned in this post. Sometimes you can look at something and it will mean a totally different thing. Now I get most people will look at things differently, but when facts and statistics are shown, smart marketers will not always believe everything they read. They will research, find out things and look at it from a different angle.
